Technology Workshop #5

30/03/09

In week five we looked at the creation of digital films online, and also how this can be used in the classroom. I thoroughly enjoyed this activity as it let me be creative, which I think would appeal to students as well. Students if doing this task would also be creating their own story line, and dialog for characters which would help improve English skills. Also the story can be watched straight after it is created, so it gives immediate feedback to students. Students performing this task would also be paying close attention to the task as it is engaging and hopefully be proud of their film at the end. As well as take the opportunity to help out fellow students and learn from each other.

We participated in a typing activity, which was very strange when we where doing it because we had to type with the computer screens turned off, so there was no visual feedback, which was hard at first. However I performed rather well in that task. This would be a great activity to improve typing skills.

We also had a look at some educational games, which was really fun. There are also some games on LMS which after I play it I will need to assess it and write a little about it on the discussion board. However they all seem like good tools to use in the class room.
